The Buffalo Run Mesa Neighborhood
The Buffalo Run Mesa neighborhood is a covenant-controlled community located in Commerce City in the northwest corner of the intersection of 104th Avenue and Chambers Street. The neighborhood is comprised of 468 single family homes.
The neighborhood is perfectly situated around and elementary school, golf course, open space trails, retail shops and the Reunion recreation center. Within the neighborhood is an eight acre park area with a community swimming pool and playground. Finally, Commerce City's recreation center is located approximately three miles west from Buffalo Run Mesa.
Bordering the east side of the neighborhood is Landmark Elementary School (Brighton 27J School District) - serving children from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Regarding the neighborhood's proximity to retail shopping, the neighborhood is less than 1/2 mile from a King Soopers superstore and Walgreens (west of the neighborhood). About a 10-minute drive north from the neighborhood is the Prairie Center Shopping District (Kohl's, Home Depot, Office Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, Ross, Michaels, SuperTarget, PetSmart, JC Penney, Famous Footware, Dollar Tree) The neighborhood is less than a 30-minute drive away from downtown Denver and the Denver International Airport.
The District
The Buffalo Run Mesa Metropolitan District (the District) is a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado. The District's boundaries wholly encompass the Buffalo Run Mesa neighborhood and the District's board of directors are elected solely by Colorado registered voters living and/or owning property within the Buffalo Mesa subdivision.
The District's current, primary responsibility is to collect property taxes to fund the repayment of its bond debt. In 2004, the District financed the construction of the neighborhood's infrastructure including roads, storm drains, street lights, parks and open spaces and utility lines. The Homeowners' Association
The Buffalo Run Mesa Homeowners Association, Inc. (the HOA) is a private non-profit corporation. The HOA is wholly owned by the property owners. The property owners of each lot are assigned one ownership unit and vote in the HOA. Click on "HOA" in the above menu to review additional information regarding the HOA.

Commerce City provides weekly trash pick-up service to the neighborhood through its contractor - Republic Services. Any questions or concerns about trash service should be directed to Republic Services at (303) 286-1200.

For homeowners who have not been previously issued a pool key card or have lost their pool key card, click on the link below to complete the form below. Buffalo Run Mesa Residents cannot enter the pool area without a valid gate key card.

Important Dates to Remember |
Trash pick-up is provided by Commerce City and occurs weekly on Fridays. If a holiday occurs during any given week, trash pick-up service is moved to Saturday. Recycling pick-up occurs every other week on Fridays (on even-numbered dates--16th, 30th, etc).
South Adams County Water & Sanitation District shuts off the irrigation water supply between October 15th and April 15th each year. (All neighborhood residents' sprinkler systems are hooked into the irrigation water system.)
